Pillar 02 — Placards & marking verification

Placards are the highest-visibility HazMat compliance item and the most-cited violation category at roadside inspection. 49 CFR Part 172 mandates placards on all four sides of the vehicle, minimum 10.8 inches per side, with UN/NA identification numbers displayed when required by the specific class and quantity of material transported.
